Christopher Johnstone is known in the Broadway community for his unparalleled vocal versatility. He is equally at home in contemporary and classic music theater as he is with opera and classical music. Christopher recently played the role of Magaldi on the 1st National Broadway Tour of “Evita.”
Christopher trained as an actor and opera singer at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Tanglewood Music Center under the baton of James Levine, The Glimmerglass Young American Artist Program and The Oberlin in Italy Program.
Christopher was part of the 7-time, Tony Award winning Lincoln Center production of “South Pacific” that toured the U.S. and Canada. Reprising the role of Lt. Cable at Ogunquit Playhouse landed him a “Best Actor” nomination for Broadway World Boston.
Christopher’s concerts span from Carnegie Hall to Capitol Hill and in between. He has been a guest soloist with the National Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, and the Boston Pops, Modesto and Omaha Symphonies. He recently performed with the Houston Symphony alongside Rachel York and Christiane Noll in “100 Years of Broadway.”
Other collaborations include numerous roles at Lyric Opera San Diego, The Mark Morris Dance Group, Opera Pacific and The Castleton Music Festival conducted by Lorin Maazel.
While the stage is his first love, Christopher has also appeared on TV shows including: “All My Children”, “Watch What’s Happening LIVE”, and “Personal Justice” and has modeled for clients such as Katy Perry, Ralph Lauren, DETAILS Magazine, Chanel, Modus Couture & Hart Schaffner Marx.
